Program Coordinator – Digital Literacy
Reports to: Director of Operations
Hours of Work: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00PM (35 hours/week). Occasional evenings and/or weekends may be required due to the nature of the program.
Term: Full-time, temporary 9-month contract, with the possibility of extension
Salary: $25.00/hr
About the position
As a Digital Literacy Program Coordinator at NEOnet, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the education and awareness of digital literacy in Northeastern Ontario. You will be responsible for coordinating and enhancing our digital literacy programs, working with regional and community partners and stakeholders, developing programming and resources, and fostering a community of tech enthusiasts. Your work will directly contribute to empowering individuals to acquire valuable technical skills. Furthermore, you will lead and facilitate exciting ICT related events across the catchment area to further support ICT and digital literacy initiatives.
What you will do
Engaging with learners of all ages across the catchment area through the delivery of community-centred workshops, events and seminars.
Designing and deploying interactive learning experiences, online learning modules, and ICT learning kits and digital skills workshops and events for learners in Northeastern Ontario
Serve as principal contact and liaison between learners, volunteers, and other stakeholders, facilitating scheduling, meetings, special projects and problem resolution.
Support and facilitate employer and business engagement initiatives (Speaker Series, Employer Information Sessions, and Career Fairs)
Build and maintain select long-term relationships with key community partners.
Engage with and respond to community members and learners to ensure our programming is community-driven and accessible.
Lead and facilitate working committee meetings and provide regular updates on program progress.
Plan both large and small events, including symposiums and competitions, which are integral to our learning experiences.
Coordinate communications and marketing efforts to raise awareness of our digital literacy initiatives and engage a wider audience.
Oversee program monitoring and evaluation to ensure goals are met and improvements are identified.
Support evaluation and community surveys, and provide project reporting back to the evaluation team to help improve future program delivery.
Other duties as assigned such as maintaining equipment, creating registration pages on related apps as needed, recording attendance, capturing delivery events through photos and videos, etc.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in a relevant field (education, communication, science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), or event planning) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience developing and/or delivering learning experiences and working with post-secondary students, volunteers, educators, seniors and youth is a strong asset.
Basic to intermediate coding skills, experience with media and technology, and marketing is considered a strong asset.
Valid G class drivers license, clean driving record
A Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS), and background check will be a condition of the employment offer (if over the age of 18).
